Alice Lewellen Mallory Ford, 86, of Baytown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at a Baytown healthcare facility. Born in Carthage, Missouri, on April 8, 1922, she was the only child born to Lewis Tennis Mallory and Ethel Shoemaker Mallory. In 1939, Babe, as she was known in her younger years, won the Ozark Miss Smile Girl Contest in Joplin, MO. On August 18, 1941, she married Edgar Raymond Ford. They moved to Baytown in 1949, where she became known as "Neenie," a name she proudly carried for generations. An accomplished dancer, Neenie began teaching dance in the 1960s. In the mid 1970s, she opened an in-home daycare which she operated for years, until it became time to care for her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. A longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she enjoyed sewing, loved animals, traveled all over the world, but her true passion was her family.

Neenie is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Raymond Ford, son-in-law, Hal Lynn Hooks, granddaughter, Tracie Hooks Chapman, and grandson-in-law, Rodney Hanson. She is survived by her children, Sharon Rae Ford, of Highlands, Randy Ford and wife, Sandra, of Baytown, and Debbie Vaughan and husband, David, of Livingston; grandchildren, Lacie and John Harrison, Laina Hanson, Mikal Frazier, Chance Ford, Chase Ford, Eric Mason, Nash Mason, Brandy Bertling and Maegan Koehn; great grandchildren, Erin Manley, Kelsey Chapman, Haylin Harrison, Denise Ashley, Jerod Hanson, Tyler Bean, Rowdy Ford, Harleigh Mason, Adam Mason, Taryn Mason, Jackson Mason, Brice Bertling, Kennady Bertling and Branson Bertling; great-great grandchildren, Lyric Blake, Jade Chapman, Chasity Hanson and Sabrina Harrison.
