TORRINGTON – Kathleen N. Amoroso, 60, of Oxbow Drive, Torrington died peacefully, comforted by her family, on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of Thomas F. Amoroso.
Mrs. Amoroso was born in Hartford on June, 21, 1950, a daughter of Felicia (Zangari) Fortune and the late Thomas Fortune.
She had worked in the Charlotte Hungerford Radiology Dept. for over 10 years after working for the Hartford Life Insurance Co. for over 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, long walks, and caring for her family, especially her grandsons. She loved animals, fashion, shopping, writing poetry, collecting dolls and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Kathleen was a very courageous woman, being a survivor of breast cancer, AML leukemia and renal cancer. She was a loving and caring person who put others first and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Besides her husband and mother she is survived by two daughters, Heather Nypert and her husband Michael of Torrington and Melinda Mailhot and her husband David of Lisbon, Maine; two grandsons, Chase Mailhot and Joseph Nypert; one sister, Deborah Bifolck and her husband John of South Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m. from The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington to Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in St. Peter's Mausoleum, Torrington. Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m.
