Mrs Jennie Fowler Darby, wife of Walter R. Darby of 111 East Dudley avenue who is director of the State Department of Local Government died Friday night in Muhlenberg Hospital Plainfield after a brief illness. She had been admitted the day previously.

She was born in New York and had lived here about 50 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the Westfield DAR chapter.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Haskell MacCowatt of Westfield and Mrs. Homes Bannard of Birmingham, Mich.; a son, Robert F. Darby of Westfield; nine grandchildren and two sisters, the Misses Carrie and Elizabeth Fowler of Westfield.

Funeral services were held in Gray's Funeral home Monday afternoon with the Rev. Dr. Skinner, minister of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
