Fay Humphries Francis, age 95, born June 25, 1918, died March 25, 2014 at LeConte Medical Center, Sevierville, Tn., under the care of Hospice.

She lived in the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge area for 18 years, and was formally from Knoxville, Tn.

She was preceded in death by husband, E. E. Francis, of 55 years; son, Jack Francis; father and mother, Charlie and Johanna Humphries; brothers, Marion and Claxton Foster; sister, Evelyn Humphries Summe; and son-in-law, Jim Long.

She is survived by daughters, Joann Long of Dunedin, Fl., and Becky Slate and husband, Bill, of Dallas, Tx. She was "Nan Nan" to eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was "Aunt Fay" to many children of special friends, and "Miss Fay" to many of her other friends. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for twenty-six years, retiring in 1981. Other jobs included Walmart door greeter, security officer at McGhee Tyson Airport, and ticket collector at Dollywood. Some of her interest during her life included cooking, gardening, sewing, knitting, traveling, hiking and camping. She spent many special times at the Smith Family Theater in Pigeon Forge, and considered everyone there her second family. She was a cancer survivor and participated in many Relay for Life events in the area.

Services will be held at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tn. on March 28, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Whitted officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville, Tn. at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014.
