Verna Marie COBLE FREEMAN, 90 , of Boise, died Dec. 12, 2000, in a local care center, of natural causes.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at Dry Creek Cemetery, Boise. Chaplain Richard VERING will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.

Verna was born Dec. 11, 1910, near Shawnee, Okla., to John H. and Florence E. COBLE. She lived the early years of her life in Shawnee, and attended schools there. She came to Boise in 1925, took cosmetology training, and then worked for 50 years in several salons around the Boise area. She owned and operated Vanity Beauty Salon in Boise from 1952, until her retirement in 1977.

Verna enjoyed the out-of-doors and spent many happy hours fishing, camping and boating on Idaho’s beautiful lakes and rivers. She also had a special love of animals and helped several of them in distress.

Verna was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include nieces, June HUGHES, Marie CLAPSADDLE and her husband, Claude, and Betty McCOMB and her husband, Dan, all of Boise, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; and two nieces.
