Ardeth Anderson Freeman was born in Millville, the daughter of Andrew and Martha Graham Anderson. She attended school in Millville. After her mother's death, she helped her father and brothers at home. On September 16, 1930, she married Oscar F. Freeman at Basalt, Idaho. They made their home in Salt Lake City, where Oscar was employed as a carpenter, and Ardeth worked at Beehive Clothing. She was blessed with a talent for music, and sang in the Tabernacle Choir for many years. She and Oscar held many positions in the LDS Church. They had no children but raised a nephew, Varcell Anderson.
