Services Held In Second Ward

Archie Leroy Freeman, 69, died June 5 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital following an illness of several years. He was born to William H. and Mary Winters Freeman, December 12, 1894, at Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Mr. Freeman had lived in Bear Lake county for about 50 years, first at Nounan and the past 19 years at Montpelier. He was a former employee of the Union Pacific Railroad.

Mr. Freeman was a World War I Veteran whose outfit was in the Meusse-Argonne drive ending November 11, 1918. He remained with the Army of Occupation until September 26, 1919.

Mr. Freeman and Ivy Bacon were married May 4, 1921 at Montpelier and the ceremony was solemnized January 5, 1964 in the LDS Temple, Logan.

Besides his widow he is survived by three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Lyman (Phyllis) Weaver of Bennington, Mrs. Rex (Blanche) Wallentine of Paris, Mrs. Bennie (Barbara) Comish of Grace, Clyde Freeman of Montpelier, Verlin Freeman of Soda Springs and Jack Freeman of Las Vegas, Nevada; 20 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers; one half-brother; two sisters and four half-sisters.

Services were conducted by Counselor Robert Einzinger in the Second ward on Tuesday with the prayer at the Matthews Mortuary by Alvin Tueller.

Janet Larsen played prelude and postlude music; obituary, Mr. Einzinger; invocation, Jerry Bissegger; song, "Sometime We'll Understand," Singing Mothers, accompanied by Janet Larsen; speaker, Lester Skinner; song, "Forgotten," Mrs. Walter Hunzeker, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Jacobson; speaker, Lewis Munk; song, "Lord's Prayer," Max Haddock, accompanied by Janet Larsen; prayer, Walter Rohner.

Dedication of the grave was by Lyman Weaver, and pallbearers were Gary Dundord, Steve Freeman, Dale Patrick, Grant Passey, Jerry Weaver, and Phil Weaver; honorary pallbearers, Ricky Cornish, Kevin Bissegger, Randy Freeman. Military services were conducted by Eugene J. Grimes.
