Eva was the youngest child of Orrin and Diana (King) Freeman and was born on the family farm located near Haddam in Mill Creek Township, Washington County, Kansas on October 29, 1886. When she was less than three years of age, the family moved to the small village of Yesler, King County, Washington. Yesler is now a part of the city of Seattle. Eva had five brothers and sisters: Alvin William, Mark Myron, John Justus, Amy Amanda (who lived less than one month) and Stella Wilhelmina. Eva married Len Leo Dinwiddie on April 10, 1907 in Seattle and the couple had seven children:

Leneva Dinwiddie (born in 1909)
Sylvia Dinwiddie (born December 27, 1912)
Lloyd Dinwiddie (born January 28, 1916)
Laura Lucille Dinwiddie (born April 5, 1920 Monyhan, Wn)

Marvin Dinwiddie (born January 4, 1926 at Parma, Idaho)
Len for a number of years was a tubboat captain for a sawmill company in western Washington. Eva and Len lived for a number of years in the Seattle vicinty; later in Parma and Nampa, Idaho. Len died on May 15, 1936 in Nampa. (One source mentions the date as May 14, 1936.) Eva passed away at Altadena, Los Angeles County, California on January 26, 1978 and her remains were returned to Nampa for burial. She, her husband Len and son Lloyd are all interred in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery located in Nampa, Canyon County, Idaho.
