Stella French Ames, 77, died Sunday evening at the home of her son Charles, Mexico where she had made her home since the death of her husband Oakes Ames last year. She had been in frail health for some
time. Mrs. Ames was born in Buchanan, Mich., July 19th, 1882. the daughter of Charles H. and Sarah Gyer French. As a young girl she came to Mexico to live with her aunt, Mrs, Peter Morgan and was married to Oakes Ames in the house now owned by the Shampines. She had lived in Mexico about 60 years. She was a member of Mexico Presbyterian Church and its Women's Federation and a 50 year
member of Victoria Chapter No. 205. O. E. S. A talented musician, she was musician for the chapter for many years. She is survived by one son
Charles; two brothers Charles and Henry French of Buchanan. Funeral services were held Wednesday.
Rev. Donald G. Roth, pastor of the Mexico Presbyterian Church officiating. Members of Victoria Chapter conducted the O.E.S.
