Mrs. Gertrude Arthur
Mrs. Gertrude E. Arthur, 72, registered nurse and wife of Edward Arthur, West Hebron, died Monday in Mary McClellan Hospital, Cambridge, after a short illness. Mrs. Arthur was a member of the West Hebron United Presbyterian Church and of the Registered Nurse Alumnae Association of Ridgewood, N.J. She had lived in Bolton Landing prior to moving to Salem.
Surviving besides her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Betsey Austin of Ridgefield, Conn., and Mrs. Ann Kenyon of Essex, Mass.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Robbins of Hudson Falls; four brothers, James, Harry, Burton and Charles French, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the West Hebron Presbyterian Church by Rev. Kenneth E. Parker, pastor. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.
