FORMER STRATFORD GIRL PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Lavina Friedrich left Tuesday for Wallace, Idaho, in response to a message which stated that her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Anderson, had passed away following an operation.
The cause of her sudden death is not known here for the messages did not give any details. Olive was very well known in Stratford having lived here with her parents many years. She was a charming young woman, who counted her friends by the hundreds for her sweet disposition won for her lifelong friends who unite with the bereaved husband, daughter, parents, brothers and sister in extending their sincere sympathy in this their hour of sorrow.

Ollie Friedrich was born in Illinois, May 27, 1884 and passed away at the hospital in Wallace, Idaho, May 22, 1917. She would thus have been thirty-three years of age had she survived until the Sunday following her death.
On September 19, 1904 she was united in marriage to Arthur E. Anderson of Galesburg, Illinois, and to them were born one child - a daughter - Audrey, who was ten years of age at her mother's death.
In 1907 they moved to Spokane, Washington and in 1913 to Wallace, Idaho, where they have since resided. Deceased was a member of the M.E. Church at Spokane, secretary and treasurer of the Scandinavian Sisterhood of America, and a prominent member of the Maccabees.
She is survived by a sorrowing husband, Arthur E. Anderson; a daughter, Audrey; a loving mother, Mrs. Lavina Friedrich of Stratford; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Carlson, of Stratford; three brothers, Dr. C.E. Friedrich of Fort Dodge; Leon Friedrich of Caspar, Wyoming, and Earl of Chicago, Illinois. Besides her relatives she leaves to mourn her sad taking away a large number of friends at Wallace and at Stratford. All of them join with the Courier in condolences in this sad hour.
Funeral services were held in Wallace Tuesday at the M.E. Church and a crowded church and large floral offerings testified to deceased's popularity at that place. The remains were shipped to Stratford immediately following the services and arrived here Sunday morning. Brief services were held at the C.G. Carlson home here and at the M.E. Church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. The church here was crowded with persons who came to pay their last respects to a departed and beloved friend. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. H.I. Pharo was in charge of the services.
Ollie was one of those sweet natured young ladies whom it is an honor and a pleasure to call your friend. Her ever ready smile was as a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Her deep sympathy for those in distress and her kindness of heart toward those who must suffer warmed people to her in an undying affection. In Stratford and the surrounding community she was well known and beloved by everyone. During the time she was a high school student here she was loved for her sweet disposition and when she commenced teaching later on her scholars adored her. Always kind when she was young, she was equally kind as she grew mature and it can be truly said of her that she will be remembered by many as a friend in whose death they have lost a true and loving friend.
Her last illness came suddenly and her death followed like a bolt of thunder out of a clear sky. On the Sunday previous to her last illness she was in her usual good health but through the week was taken ill and on Saturday taken to the hospital and an operation performed for abscess of the stomach. She rallied from the operation and was getting along nicely until a few hours before her death when complications set in. All that loving care could do was done but of no avail and at 11 a.m. Monday she passed away.
She is gone to that better land but her memory will long linger.
