SCOTCH PLAINS — Mrs. Augusta Frances Hess Albert, 76, wife of former Tax Collector, Joseph Albert of 1934 Front street, died Wednesday in Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield.
Mrs. Albert was born in Berkeley Heights and had lived in Scotch Plains more than 50 years. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, April 25, 1956. Mr. Albert retired last July 1, after 33 and a half years as this community's tax collector.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Albert is survived by a son, Clifford Francis Albert, at home; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Littlejohn of San Diego, Cal.; and a brother, Louis W. Funk of Berkeley Heights.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Higgins "Home for Funerals", Plainfield. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield.
