ELSMERE - Nettie Abner Smith, 74, formerly of Independence, died Saturday at Woodcrest Manor, Elsmere.

She was retired for Patton Vocational School.

Her first husband, John Abner, and second husband, Raleigh Smith, died previously.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Knarr, Patsy Sester, Linda Fender and Shirley Ketron; sons, John Wayne and Scott Abner; sister, Edith Sizemore; brother, Dillard Gabbard; nine grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday and service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will be in Brown Mission Cemetery, Manchester.
