Ricetown, KY – Geraldine Gabbard Bowling, 55, wife of Albert Bowling, passed away Friday, August 25, 2006, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky. Mrs. Bowling was born in Oneida, Kentucky, on October 9, 1950, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Cora Mae Whicker Gabbard. She was a former nurses aide for the Owsley County Health Care Center, a homemaker, and a member of the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. Along with her husband of 36 years, she is survived by a son, Scott Bowling of Booneville, Kentucky; two daughters, Vickie Price of Booneville, Kentucky and Hope Kelley of Campton, Kentucky; and five grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Bill and Carlos Gabbard, both of Booneville, Kentucky; six sisters, Gladys Peters, Virginia McDaniel, Nadine Smith, Judy Sizemore and Aline Wilder, all of Booneville, Kentucky and Brenda Silcox of Beattyville, Kentucky; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 28, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Visitation on Sunday evening, August 26, 2006 at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Burial in the Esau- Gabbard Cemetery on Indian Creek with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Larry Oliver, Buddy Gabbard, Brandon Baker, Elwood Sizemore, Glen Smith and Dale Amis. Booneville Sentinel August 31, 2006.
