Blanche T.C. Adams, 96, passed away February 17, 2009, in Dade City at the Royal Oak Nursing Center. Blanche was born in Johnstown, PA., to Jefferson and Annie Gable and was the youngest of 17 children. Blanche was predeceased by an infant daughter, Anna Clara, her son, Blair Adams Jr., and her husband, Blair Adams Sr.

Blanche and her husband made news October 23, 1930, when they were the first couple in Johnstown to be married in the air in the Travelair six passenger plane "Smilin Thru" as it circled over the city. In 1954, they moved to Dade City and became faithful and active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City. Blanche was also active ini the Pithian Sisters, the Morning Circle, the Fort King Homemakers Extension Club and the Spring Timers. She was a volunteer for many years at the Pasco County Fair and also the Pasco County Elections.

Her husband owned the Hilltop Service Station, and Blanche had Adam's Florist Shop. She later worked at Wyman's Flower Shop. When her husband began Blair Adams' Land Clearing, she assisted in the office. She loved to play bingo and played every chance she got. She never met a stranger and everyone always enjoyed her witty personality. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church, 37412 Church Ave, Dade City, Florida.
