John married Edna JACOB, who was born July 3, 1912 Astoria, daughter of August JACOB and Marie INGRISCH, and died Nov 18, 1999 Fort Myers FL, burial site unknown.


JOHN EDWARD GALBRAITH, 60, of Homestead Road, Bacon Hill, NY died Saturday at Saratoga Hospital.

Mr Galbraith as born December 30, 1904 in Brooklyn. He had lived in Mastic Beach for 42 years prior to moving to Bacon Hill several months ago. He was an exempt member of the Mastic Beach Fire Department, Civil Service Association, Mastic Beach Republican Club, and former foreman for the Brookhaven Town Highway Department. He started the first Boy Scout Troop in Mastic Beach.

He is survived by his wife Edna; two daughters, Mrs Maryann Kuzmech of Mastic Beach and Miss Lynn Galbraith of Mastic Acres; his mother, Mrs Annie Galbraith of Valley Stream; two brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.

Prayer service was held at 7:45 pm yesterday at Herrmann's Funeral Home, Center Moriches. Funeral services will be held at 11 am today at St Andrews Episcopal Church, Mastic Beach, with the Rev Alfred T K Zadig officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Pleasant Cemetery, East Moriches.
