She was born on July 11, 1915 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Fay Jeffers and Pearl Carol (Jeffers) Wolfe.
She is survived by her five children, Joseph Allen Garner of New Comerstown, OH; James F. Garner and wife Jeanie (Poe) of Bridgeport, WV; John Garner and wife Edie of Grafton, WV; Jackie Leroy Garner of Grafton, WV; Delores Carol Ward and husband George of Carthage, MS; Marie is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, numerous great and great- great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Garner, and her second husband George Jackson Bailey; also two sisters, Mary Poe and Bernadine Martin; and one brother, Virgil "Buddy" Wolfe.
Marie is a graduate of Grafton High School, she served as cook for the Taylor County School System for several years; she was also a member of the First Grace Brethren Church of Grafton, WV.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, and had a love for her pets.
Marie was the last surviving member of her immediate family and will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Willis officiating.
Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.
