ALICE MAE GARNSEY, age 93, of Mayville, Michigan went to be with her heavenly father Tuesday, October 5, 2010. She passed away at home peacefully with her family. Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Mills Memorial Baptist Church in Mayville, MI. with Pastor Sam Reece officiating. Family will receive visitors 2 – 8 P.M. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Avram Funeral Home, and 9 A.M. until time of service at the church. Interment will be at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, MI Memorials may be made to: Mills Memorial Baptist Church or A-1 Hospice of Lapeer, MI. Alice was born May 10, 1917 to Lee and Laura (Blecker) Lemon in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ferndale, MI. Alice married Lowell Garnsey on September 30, 1944 in Pleasant Ridge, MI. She was a homemaker, a retired librarian from the Mayville District Library, and a member of Mills Memorial Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, knitting, embroidery, and cooking. She is survived by one son: Lee Garnsey of Mayville, three daughters: Gayle (Robert) Young of North Branch, Judy (Robert) Mackie of Saginaw, Marialice Garnsey of Essexville, one brother: Robert (Audrey) Lemon of Farmington, one sister-in-law: Jean Lemon of Gladwin, seven grand children, nine great grand children, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lowell, two brothers: Lyle and Leonard Lemon.
