Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Clara Estelle Ballard of Greenwood will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona, with burial following. Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate the services.
Mrs. Ballard died of heart failure on Monday, November 9, 2009, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was 94 years old.
Mrs. Ballard was the daughter of the late Levi and Alma Teal Garrard, and the widow of the late Frank K. Ballard. She was a homemaker and a Baptist, and loved quilting and crocheting for family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Pruett; sisters, Lucy Sproles and Edna Gordon; and brothers, Levi Garrard Jr., Sam Garrard, and Dub Garrard.
Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Pruett (Stan) of McCarley; son, Ted Ballard (Cheryl) of Cleveland; sisters, Pauline Reid of Winona and Lorene Jackson (Rogers) of Greenwood; brother, Holman Garrard (Louise) of
Greenwood; four grandchildren, Phillip Pruett Jr. (Erica) of Greenwood, Kedar Ballard and Katie Ballard of Cleveland; and Cody Ballard of Camp LeJeune,North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Pruett and Mackenzie Grace Pruett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
