Mrs. Susan Geist Ashe, 43, of Walkersville died on Friday, July 27, at her residence. She was the wife of Dr. Gene F. Ashe, her husband of 20 years. Born on September 29, 1957, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of John and Carole Myers Geist of Baltimore. Mrs. Ashe was a homemaker but had previously worked as a teacher of the deaf. She volunteered at Glade Elementary School and for Health Care For The Homeless. Mrs. Ashe was a member of the Walkersville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting. Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are two daughters; Brittany K. Ashe and Julia N. Ashe both of Walkersville. Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, July 31, and from 12-9 PM on Wednesday, August 1, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville where the family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Tuesday and from 6-9 PM on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at1 PM on Thursday, August 2, at the Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main Street, Walkersville with Rev. Albert K. Lane, III and Rev. Jennifer Smith officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Deaf Access Services.
