BRANDT--Mrs. Ottylia Brandt dies; funeral services Monday
Mrs. Ottylia Brandt, 82, of 3813 13th street, died Thursday night in the Lutheran hospital after an illness of two weeks.
She was a lifetime resident of Platte county and had lived in Columbus since 1945.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God church, the Rev. Dale K. Eden officiating. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery, Okay.
The body will lie in state at Gass Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Sunday to 9:30 a.m. Monday, then at church from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service.
Mrs. Brandt was born April 7, 1884 in Platte county, daughter of the late Paul Christian and Elizabeth Von Bergen Gertsch. She attended District 32 school.
On Sept. 1, 1909 she was married to Joachim Henry Brandt at her parents' home. He died in 1944.
She was a member of the Assembly of God church, a former Sunday school superintendent and former member of the New Hope cemetery board.
Surviving are five children, Paul Henry of Phoenix, Rev. William Walter of Littleton, Colo., Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Mohrman of Monroe, Mrs. Estal (Elizabeth) Nansel of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and Dorothy Mae, at home; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Helmuth Gertsch of La Canada, Cal.; four sisters, Mrs. Lydia Schoembs and Mrs. Felix Chadwick of Van Nuys, Cal., Mrs. H. R. Weber of Monroe and Mrs. D. A. Young of Three Rivers, Cal.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Werner, Carl, Walter and Paul Gertsch, and two sisters, Ellinor and Mrs. Alma Bartlett.
