Lee A. Gertsch, 89, formerly of Kane, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 2001) in his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1911, in Sheffield, the son of Michael and Margaret Amacher Gertsch. He retired in 1974 from the former Glass Container Corp of Dayville where he was employed for 50 years as a machine operator and troubleshooter. He is survived by a son, Michael C. Gertsch of Griswold, Conn; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Peterson Gertsch, who died Dec. 8, 1973; and a daughter, Dorothy Lee Robb.
