Anton D. Giacometti, 84, of Buckingham, died Saturday (Jan. 9, 1999) at Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today and from 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the VonQualen-Harris Funeral Home, Dwight.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Richard Kostelz at Sacred Heart Church, Campus, where Mr. Giacometti was a member.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Campus. Pallbearers will be John Keating, Jerry Turner, Ed Stahler, Rusty Giacometti, Wayne Bisaillon and Butch Paraday.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
He was born Dec. 8, 1914 in rural Coal City, near Campus, the son of Spirito and Christina Savant Giacometti.
He farmed for 50 years with his four brothers, raising registered hereford cattle for many of those years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Fraher, whom he married Feb. 7, 1939; two sons and daughters-in- law, Robert and Gretta Giacometti and Leo and Michelle Giacometti, all of Cabery; one daughter, Joann Graf of Campus; one brother, Joseph Giacometti of Pontiac; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Clarence, James and John Giacometti and a sister, Margaret Murphy.
He enjoyed playing cards.
