Jane was born at Massies Creek, Green County, Ohio to Thomas and Martha (Hogg) Gibson.Her parents farm where she was born was on the main road, US Route 42 going from Xenia, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio. Her paternal grandparents lived on the farm next door. She married Thomas Smith Allen in Hale Twp., Warren County, ILL April 9, 1835, he died in 1845 leaving her to raise her 6 young kids with her fathers help. She moved with her son Robert Allen and his second wife Bertha Drollinger Allen to Oregon, Linn County, when she was in her 80's. She died there in Oregon in her 90th year. Her husband Thomas Allen is buried in the Sugar Tree Grove Cemetery in Warren County, ILL with his mother Elizabeth Law Allen and other siblings of his. Her son James Allen and wife Theresa moved to Ellston, Iowa. The Gibson's were all members of the Seceder Church, division of the Presbyterian Church and they moved from NC, to TN to OH to IL to establish new churches and towns.They moved to Warren County, Illinois, outside of Monmouth in 1830-31.
