She was born 17 Jul 1905 in Bernice, Oklahoma and died of cancer in a hospital in San Bernardino, having been a resident for four years of the San Bernardino and Colton area. She was the second child born to James Alfred Gilbert I (1885-1935) and Alice Marie Layton (1885-1928). She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Colton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Barry, in 1973. She was survived by her son, Joe Barry of Rialto, CA; a daughter, Rena Moat, of Whittier, CA; eight brothers, Virgil Gilbert of Washington, Homer, James and Elisha Gilbert, all of Oklahoma, Leonard Gilbert of Missouri, Jessie Lloyd "John" Gilbert of Rialto, CA, Warren Gilbert of Vista, CA, and Jack Gilbert of Garden Grove, CA; two sisters, Lula Kerr of Sunnymead, CA, and Pearl Magness of Colton, CA; six grandchildren, Joe and Christine Barry, Bill, Ralph, Robert, and Richard Moat; and two great-grandchildren. Services at Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary, burial at Montecito Memorial Park.
