She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in the township of Granby, Minn., the daughter of Rusell and Lucille Brinkman Gleason.
She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a nurse, and attained the rank of second lieutenant, from Feb. 23, 1944, to May 1, 1945. She had been employed by Gowanda Psychiatric Center as a night supervisor for 28 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the South Dayton American Legion Post 1593 and the Cherry Creek Veterans of Foreign Wars 2522.
She was extremely patriotic and proud of her service to her country and that her children also served.
She is survived by two sons: Michael Gleason of Centenial, Colo., and Jeffrey Brooks of Jacksonville, Ariz.; five daughters: Pamela West of Port Angeles, Wash., Leslie Bennett of McLean, Va., Tracey Brooks of Chandler, Ariz., and Kerry and Barrie Brooks, both of South Dayton; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Gleason of Nicolett, Minn.; and two sisters: Shirley Stevensen of New Ulm, Minn., and Florence Mogensen of St. Peter, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Gleason; and two brothers: Lyle and Willard Gleason.
