Dorothy Glynn "Tootsie" D'Astous formerly of East Hartford, wife of the late Joseph D'Astous entered into eternal peace Sunday, (February 11, 2007). Born in Hartford in 1909, she was the daughter of the late John and Bridget (McGoldrick) Glynn.

She had retired from the Underwood Typewriter Co. after many satisfying years as a typesetter.

She is survived by her nephews: Donald Leavitt of Newington, John Tennant of East Hartford, Raymond Tennant of Farmington and her niece Patricia Rogers of Glastonbury as well as many in state and out of state nieces and nephews and grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and other relatives. In addition to her husband and parents Dorothy was predeceased by a nephew Russell Leavitt Sr. and a niece Lorraine Leavitt Dodge.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Newington Health Care for their dedication and compassion to Dorothy "Tootsie" during the many years she resided at their facility. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 15, at 9:30 a.m. from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield with Dorothy's grandnephew, the Reverend Robert F. Leavitt S.S. from St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland serving as host priest. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Cottage Grove Rd, Bloomfield. Friends and relatives may pay their respects, Thursday, February 15, from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
