SUMMERTON, SC - Frances Godley "Ricky" Blackwelder, 85, widow of Walter Leon Blackwelder, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at her home in Summerton. Born December 30, 1925, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Caleb Benjamin Godley and the late Viola Crosby Godley.

She was a member of Summerton Presbyterian Church where she served as a former church historian and Deacon.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Blackwelder Evans of Summerton; her grandson, Dr. Scott C. Evans and his wife, Dr. Beth Dacus of Charleston; two nephews; a niece; and a number of cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011, in the Adnah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Islandton, SC with the Rev. Garland Hart officiating.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday evening in the Rankin Chapel at Summerton Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to the Summerton Presbyterian Church, 16 S. Cantey St., Summerton 29148.
