Mary Gomez Bellhouse, passed away peacefully in Harbor City at Kaiser Hospital with her loved ones at her side, one day short of her 93rd birthday. Born in Redlands, CA, to parents Bernardo and Rafaela Gomez, Mary was one of thirteen children. She was married to Manuel "Bean" Bellhouse, who preceded her in death. They had one son, David Gomez Bellhouse, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by siblings, Robert "Bobby" Gomez and Tula Guzman; daughter in law, Patricia Bellhouse; stepchildren, Martin L. and Marjorie L. Bellhouse; grandchildren, Dave, Marlene, and April Bellhouse; great grandchildren, Delia Nunez, Bill Allen Grisham, Lilah Brooke Grisham, Dave Matos Bellhouse, and David Enrique Manuel Bellhouse, one great-great granddaughter, Vivienne Rose Nunez, as well as several godchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Resident of San Pedro for over 85 years, Mary, alongside her sisters, was a member of the Cannery Workers Union for many years. She then became a dedicated mother and homemaker and also enjoyed taking care of many children. Visitation will be on Monday, February 18, 3:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service following at 7:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in San Pedro. Following, she will be laid to rest Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
