DR. CLARENCE LaVAR GOODWIN Age 89, resident of Riverside and Lake Arrowhead for 57 years, died peacefully at home in Riverside, surrounded by his family, on 10/22/2010. Dr. Goodwin was a dentist in Riverside from 1954 - 1986. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Washington University in St. Louis. At Utah State he participated in sports; Football as a Running Back, Track, High Hurdles, boxing as the Inter-Mountain States Welter Weight Champion. He served in the Air Force from 1943-1945, earning the rank of Captain and flew "The Lucky Bunny" B24 during WWII. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints. He was a Poet, writer, Renaissance Man, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Dr. Goodwin is survived by his wife, Bunny Goodwin; daughters, Macy and Jody; sons, David, Robert and John; brothers, Dale and Benny; sister, Berna; 20 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren.
