Syble Goodwin Abrams of the 1100 block of Wade St. went to be with the Lord Sept. 29, 2005. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James R. Abrams; son, Robert L. Taylor and wife Edith of Chesapeake; daughters, Doris F. Swindell and husband David of Chesapeake, Marion Pecsek and husband Joe of Corapeake, N.C., Eloise Leggett and husband Walter of Clermont, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, Deborah Wood, Rachel Rogers, Kathee Mullins, Donna McCurdy, David Swindell II, Joyce and Todd Swindell, Syble Shellito, Lucy Barrett, Cindy Herrington, Bill Radford, Marion Reed, Alex Radford, Joe Pecsek Jr., Paul, James and Jason Leggett; 35 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Lonell Taylor. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
