Laura Mae Flora Brown, 68, lovingly referred to by most people as Nannie, of the 300 block of Thalia Station Court, died Aug. 25, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mrs. Brown, a former school bus driver, worked for the Virginia Beach Public School System for 25 years. She was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, and the Fleet Reserve Ladies Auxillary.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon G. Brown; one daughter, Indie Flora Kuebler of Virginia Beach; two sons, Cecil E. Flora Jr. and Bart Craig Flora, both of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law, Janis Flora of Virginia Beach; six sisters, Margie Bennett, Lona Martin, Mary Johnson, Page La Trace, Lola Sampley, and Stella Smith, all of Virginia Beach; one brother, Buddy Goodwin of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Jarrett Flora, Allyson Flora, Chris Kuebler, Scott Kuebler, and Jason Kuebler. She was predeceased by a sister, Shelby Mahoney.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Bob Crute and Ron Sampley. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday, and also at the home of Gary and Page La Trace, 120 Berwick Crescent in Virginia Beach. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Plaza Rescue Squad.
