Deborah passed away in Gilroy after a long illness. She was the youngest daughter of Don and Dorothy Byers Goodwin. She graduated from Gilroy High School and went on to Gavilan College. She participated in Gilroy community life for many years and was very interested in it's history. As a child she participated in the Gilroy Gymkana and Bonanza Days parades with her family. She also took joy in being with her father during his years as the Gilroy Eagle's Band Director.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Carlos of Gilroy, her sister, Diane "Sunny" Goodwin, of Oceanside, her brothers, Don Goodwin, of Blythe, and Richard Scagliotti, of Hollister, her three children: Dawn Soza and Wendi Reed, both of Hollister, John T. Reed Jr., of Annapolis, MD, many grandchildren and Byers and Goodwin relatives.
Debbie's favorite things were gardening and genealogy. She was responsible for two huge family reunions, one for the Goodwins, and one for the Byers family.
She was inurned in a small family service at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy, on November 30, 2007.
