PS1 (Navy Petty Officer First Class) US NAVY - PERSIAN GULF
VIRGINIA BEACH - Personnel Specialist First Class Elliott Warren Graham III, a Navy veteran of 19 years, tragically lost his life on the May 27, 2011. He was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 37 at Naval Air Station Oceana. Petty Officer Graham joined VFA-37 during their recent combat cruise on the USS Harry S Truman. Prior to his first tour at Oceana, he was a U.S. Navy recruiter in Louisville, Ky. He completed tours on the USS San Antonio, Helicopter Squadron 15, Naval Air Stations Jacksonville and Pensacola, and U.S. Navy Detachment Guam.
He is survived by his wife Nichole, two sons ages 13 and 11, and his parents (Elliott and Evelyn Welch-Graham) who all reside in St. Petersburg, Fla. He leaves behind many friends in the Navy, all of whom will miss his companionship, camaraderie and free spirit.
A memorial service will be held at NAS Oceana Base Chapel at 10 a.m. Friday.
