Born in Pittston, he was the son of Mrs. Mary McAndrew Granahan of Pittston Township and the late John Granahan.
He was a 1956 graduate of Pittston Township High School.
He owned and operated C&C Plumbing Co. in Pittston Township.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittston and Pittston Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a founder and director of Pittston Township Little League and was vice-president of the Italian Education Circle of Cork Lane.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cyril; sister, Theresa.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, the former Barbara Staffaroni; son, Charles Jr., at home; daughters, Jodi Cegelka, Pittston Township; Alicia, at home; brothers, John, Wilkes-Barre; Paul, Canadensis; Joseph, Pittston Township; sister, Mary Catherine Bannon, Gouldsboro, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at a time to be announced Friday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Interment will be in Italian Independent Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
