Florence A. Benway, 86, of Altmar, died Saturday at her home. She was born in the town of Florence on February 26, 1918. She attended Pulaski schools. She resided in Syracuse for 48 years, where she was employed by General Electric for 34 years, retiring in 1987. She returned to Altmar in 1987. She was a member of Jehovah's Witness Church in Central Square.
Surviving are one brother, Allen Granger of Erieville, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by several brothers and sisters, with her last sister, Joyce Granger, passing away July 12.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with burial in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours: 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
