Ollie was the daughter of Thomas B Grant and Mary "Polly" Miller.

She married Charles Harley "Harry" Burns on 22 Mar 1866 in Jackson County, North Carolina.

Four known children would be born to this union: Eliza Jane, Kelly Ann, Harry Lee and Abby C Burns. Her last child being born, ca. 1874 in Swain County, NC.

After the death of Charles, Ollie would move her family to the Qualla Community of Jackson County, NC.

She would eventually move to Knoxville, TN ca. 1900 along with her daughter, Kelly Ann and husband Hugh Joseph Smith.

She lived alone, for a time on Coleman Street, later moving to Caldwell Street. By 1910, Ollie was beginning to see the effects of her age and health. She had moved into the home of her daughter, Kelly Ann and her husband between 1909-1910 where she would remain until her death.

Ollie would succumb to a cerebral hemorrhage at 965 Gratz Street on 03 Jul 1924. She was interred on July 5th.

She was 85-years of age.
