They had one son, Sgt. Shipton Glenn Grauer, born September 4, 1898, in Buffalo, NY. Sgt. Grauer was a member of the 108th Machine-Gun Battalion, 28th Division, American Expeditionary Force. He was killed in action September 5, 1918, in Basilieux, France, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously.
