GREENWOOD, LA - Funeral services for Charles Edward Gray, 66, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at North Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, LA. A visitation for Charles will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Marshall St.
Charles was born on June 13, 1947 in Texarkana, TX and passed away from a lengthy illness May 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nola Hawkins Gray; sister, Veronica Ehrhard; son, Johnny Gray. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Charles Monkhouse and his children, Wilson, Chaneal, and Nathan; daughter, Cindy Monroe and her husband, Brian, and their children, Dalton and Colton; Tommie Gray and her son, Skyler; wife, Vickie Gray; daughter, Lindsey Fizer and her children, Avery, Cerella and Carlos; son, Chad Gray and his son, King; son, Chance Gray; brother-in-law, Pete Ehrhard; grandsons, Jonathan Gray, Tommy Howard and Joshua Gray; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles served in the US Army and was a long time truck driver. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be his family.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at NWLA War Veterans Home and to Palliative care at Overton-Brooks VA Hospital for the care they gave to Charles.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the NWLA War Veterans Home, 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Pkwy, Bossier City, LA. 71112, or to the charity of donor's choice.
