Donald Kay Green, 74, of Twin Falls, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at his home.

Donald was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Nyssa, Ore., to Joseph Glen and Edna Rozina Green. Donald spent the first part of his childhood in Baker, Ore., then they moved to Burley, Idaho. At the age of 16, Donald joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnamese wars. During his military career, he served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Army National Guard and the Army Reserves, earning multiple medals and awards. After his service, he worked as a sheriff in Bakersfield, Calif., then went to work for the California Prison System and, in 1973, moved to Twin Falls, where he worked for the Twin Falls City Police Department. Later, he went on to drive truck for Mountain Express until his retirement. Donald enjoyed building model train sets and military models. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and especially spending time with his family and friends. Donald was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Dale Green; and one grandson, Cheyne Patrick Miller.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at White Mortuary "Chapel by the Park." Inurnment will be at a later date at the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
