Alfrieda Corr, age 88, of Rupert, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Burley.
She was born May 4, 1922, in Arnold, Neb., the daughter of Bert U. and Bernice Davis Green. She graduated from high school in Arnold, Neb. She married Charles Melvin (Mel) Corr on Oct. 15, 1942, in Lander, Wyo. In 1956 they moved to Rupert. Following the death of her husband, she worked as a custodian for the Minidoka County School District.
Alfrieda was very involved with her church, where she belonged to the CWF (Christian Women's Fellowship) in Rupert and the Missouri Valley Women's Club in Lancaster County, Wyo. She enjoyed sewing and especially working in her flower gardens with her zinnias, bachelor buttons and her roses. She loved music and to dance. The most important thing to Alfrieda was her family, which was evident by looking at all of the pictures of her family on her refrigerator. She made sure that all eight of her kids graduated from high school and attended church.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Audrey) Corr of Torrington, Wyo., Gale (Susan) Corr of Meridian, Linda Corr and Wilma (Tom) Hume, both of Colville, Wash., Dean (Vickie) Corr of Heyburn, Sharon (Lynn) Veneman of Burley, James (Teresa) Corr of Rupert and Lony (Mary) Corr of Twin Falls; two brothers, Robert (Bob) Green of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Richard (Dick) Green of Filer; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Alfrieda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; two brothers, Cloice and Don Green; one sister, Ardetta Andre; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
