Peggy Joan Ann Cross, age 72, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born August 28, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert Walter, Sr. and Beatrice Mary Clukey Griffin.

She was of the Catholic faith. She was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School, Plattsburgh, NY. She had worked as a bartender and also as a hostess at the Air Force Village in San Antonio, TX.

She and her husband delivered newspapers for a number of years in Morgan County, WV. Peggy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, both in Berkeley Springs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one step-son, Donald Clarence Cross, Jr., one sister, Betty Jean Stevens and three brothers, Emery Albert Griffin, Lee Francis Griffin and Lynn Maurice Griffin.

Services and burial in Bethel Cemetery, Route 522 South, Berkeley Springs, WV, will be private.
