Born in Tifton GA, Tim had resided in Albany, GA since 1963 and moved to Lee County, GA., in 1996. He was a 1978 graduate of Westover High School where he played baseball and football and graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a BS in business.
His first career was with Ford Motor Credit as an auditor, then he became automotive loan officer for Sun Trust Bank and later took a position as branch manager for Regions Bank, before owning and operating Reed Hardware. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. The Flint River, Lake Seminole, Lake Eufaula and St. George Island were his favorite fishing spots. Tim loved UGA football, the UGA fishing team and his dog Charley. He was of the Christian faith.
Tim was loved by everyone who met him.
Survivors include a son, Charles Wesley Griner, Athens, GA., a daughter Jeanifer Lee Griner Hill (Travis), Leesburg, GA., parents, Charles F. (Sonny) Griner and Carolyn Webb Griner, Leesburg, GA., a sister, Kathy Griner Ake, (Darrell), Dacula, GA., and three grandchildren.
