VALDOSTA — Grace Jeanette Avera, 88, of Nashville died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at her residence.

She was born October 10, 1925 in Tampa, Fl to the late Shafter Griner and the Late Lillian Randall. She was a homemaker, retired from Nashville Textile, and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Johnie Webb Avera. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons: Johnnie Avera and Travis Avera; 1 brother: Lyman Griner; 1 sister: Gertrude Valenti; and 1 grandson: Scott Avera.

She is survived by 1 son: Chris (Dot) Avera of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: David Avera, Tracy Bullard, and Brooke Kelley; 5 great grandchildren: Jacob, Matthew, Ashley, Shay, and Connor; 2 nephews: Philip Griner and Tommy Valenti.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Luke and the Rev. Danny Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
