Wade A. Myers Griner, 53, of Coldwater, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, at home after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born January 21, 1967 in Battle Creek to Billy and Velma (Wickwire) Griner. He married Shelly Zimmer on August 24, 1991 in Quincy. She survives.
Wade was a huge U of M fan and enjoyed the Lions and Red Wings. He was a member of the NRA, liked to hunt, fish and he loved his Ford truck. Wade's lifelong passion was his truck driving career and his family. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he was honorably discharged as a SP4.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly, his children; Robert (Brandy) Zimmer of Coldwater and Nicholas Zimmer of Coldwater, grandchildren; Ashten, Lilly, Daisy, Robert II, Kai, Keith, Siblings; Valerie Donahue (Joseph Shank) of Fremont, IN, Rodney (Pam) Griner of Monroe, Keith (Ann) Griner of Morristown, NJ, Babette (Gary) Roberts of Vacaville, CA and Darlene Griner of Montana.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors at 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
