Barbara Betty Guilmain (Miller), 75, of Westfield died Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born to the late Victor and Louise Miller, Dec. 28, 1938, in Buffalo, NY. Barbara was raised by foster parents, Charles and Beulah Taufer, in Springville, NY, where she also raised her family. She relocated to Noblesville, IN, in 2001 and Westfield, IN in 2012.
Barbara graduated from Springville, NY in 1956. After high school she began work for M&T Bank as a Teller where she worked for many years. After relocating to Noblesville, IN, Barbara began work for Prime Life Enrichment as a Senior Companion, where she worked for ten years. Barbara was passionately devoted to making a difference in the lives of her clients, many of which became dear friends.
Throughout her life, Barbara was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, Springville, NY, then Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville. She loved to sing in the choir, teach Sunday school and serve the Lord when and where there was a need. Barbara was a most loving "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. Barbara also enjoyed membership with the Hamilton County Extension Homemakers Association and time spent gardening.
Barbara was preceded in death by Victor and Louise Miller, Charles and Beulah Taufer, Vernon Miller, Virgil Miller, William Miller, Herbert Miller, and Herschel Miller.
Barbara is survived by her children: Donna (Sean) McCarthy, of Noblesville, IN; and Bill (Claudia) Guilmain, of Glenwood, NY; her grandchildren Alexandria (K.C.) Hughes; Julie McCarthy; Lindsay (Justin) Hall, Sean McCarthy, and Will Guilmain; and her great-grandchildren Alivia, Kendra, Gavin, Christopher, Alexander and Easton. Barbara is also survived by her sisters Virginia Fisher, Shirley Taufer, Susan (Don) Corey; Lisa (Jose) Cosme; her brothers Roger (Jane) Wilkes; and James Herniman; her many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church 10055 E 186th St, Noblesville, IN at 12:00p.m, Thursday, January 16, 2014. The family will be greeting friends and relatives beginning at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with Bussell Family Funerals, Westfield, IN.
