Jacob E. Hackenschmidt age 76 of Cavalier, ND., died on Monday, February 28, 2005, at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation on Thursday, March 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery. Jacob E. Hackenschmidt was born January 20, 1929, near Cavalier, ND., to Jacob and Emma (Mosolf) Hackenschmidt. He grew up in the Cavalier area and attended the Crosby Country School. From 1952 to 1954 he served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the service he worked as a plumber for Kirman Plumbing in Los Angeles, CA. On November 19, 1961, he married Eldora Frownfelter at Las Vegas, NV., she died on December 21, 1990. He then married Barbara Haverin on March 10, 1995 in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Haverin, Cavalier, ND., son Philip Hackenschmidt, Riverside, CA., grandson, Philip Hackenschmidt, Jr., Las Vegas, NV., stepson, Michael (Kathy) Oberle, Fullerton, CA., step grandson, Ian Oberle, Chino Hills, CA., sister, Christine (Bill) LaMont, Bismarck, ND., brothers, Floyd Hackenschmidt and Melvin (Vicki) Webb all of Bathgate, ND. Jacob was also preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Sam Webb, and brother, Fred J. Hackenschmidt Clergy: Rev. Doug Heskin Military Rites by Lavern J.
