Mary was born on April 11, 1914 in Elmira, NY. She was the daughter of the late Ithemore and May (Fero) Hadlock. Mary married Norbert G. Beck on July 1, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL prior to his overseas service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mary earned two Bachelor's and one Master's degree from Elmira College, SUNY Geneseo, and Bucknell University. Mary served for 37 years as the head public librarian for the Depew Public Library, Depew, NY, retiring at the age of 65. She was active for several years in her local branch of the Zonta Club.
She is survived by her loving husband: Norbert G. Beck of Culver City, CA; and only son: George N. Beck, also of Culver City, CA.
