From The Bronson Pilot (Bronson, Kansas), Friday, July 13, 1894, Page 3
An old gentleman named Benj. Hadlock, father of Walter Hadlock who lives near Spring Valley, took sick while visiting the latter and died last Friday night. The Masonic lodge of this place having been informed by the Bolivar, Mo., lodge that he was a member of their order, took charge of the funeral services last Sunday. The remains were buried temporarily in the Bronson cemetery, pending their future removal to Bolivar, Mo., the home of the deceased, which will take place as soon as the strike troubles are settled. The body had been embalmed by Wm. Campbell and securely sealed in a galvanized casket by W. D. Freeman.
