In Loving Memory

Born in Grafton, N. D., to Harold and Cora Hagen. When 18, she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., to support the war effort. She was an aircraft assembler during World War II. After the war, she came to Colfax, Calif., where she met my dad, Don Dougherty. They moved to Newcastle, Calif., and later to Fresno, Calif. In late 1956 they came back to Colfax. They both worked for the construction companies that built I-80 from Auburn to Soda Springs.

Addie was an office manager/bookkeeper and my dad was a carpenter. As each new contract for a portion of the work was approved, they worked for the new company. Later she worked for Simpson and Simpson in Auburn. Over the years she also worked as a waitress at the Kofee Kup, Lou Labonte's, Sleepy Hollow Restaurant, Carouso's and did bookkeeping for various business' in the area. Addie loved people, enjoyed socializing, and making friends wherever she went. She was deeply involved in many community organizations. She had the most beautiful smile and overcame many challenges. The Eveready Bunny didn't have anything on her!

She is survived: by her son, Don and his wife Patty, Granddaughter, Wendy Mason (Scott), great-granddaughter, Zayla Mason, step-grandson, Matt Maynard (Amanda), step-great-granddaughters, Lauren and Alexa Maynard, brother in-law, Paul Dougherty (Genielle) and several wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Don and grandson Roger.

She was a really bright light in this world and will be greatly missed by all. Our family thanks her many friends and the community for all of their kindness and support over the years. There will be a celebration of her Life at a later date.
